Despite being one of Mexico's smaller states, there is a vibrant and active gay community with an annual gay pride parade in the capital. The capital Colima and the adjoining city of Villa de Álvarez have the largest gay scene.
The beach resort of Manzanillo does not have the giant gay scene of Puerto Vallarta up the coast but it does have LGBT tourists and a gay friendly vibe. Tecomán, the 3rd largest city, has an annual gay pride parade in June.
