Endless options for a LGBT night out in Guadalajara

There is a huge variety of LGBT nightlife in Guadalajara, from working class bars to bars with non-stop drag shows and trendy dance clubs with world class DJs. You won't be spoiled for options. The nightlife scene is concentrated in the historic center, especially along and around the appropriately named Calle Prisciliano Sanchez. There is a second area of nightlife further to the west in Colonia Americana and the Zona Rosa around Avenida Chapultepec. You'll also find some options in many other parts of the city as well as in the neigboring cities of Zapopan and Tlaquepaque.

Indoor or outdoor: Guadalajara has some great bars with outside patios

Options for going out range from cantina style bars where people gather with friends to drink and socialize, to bars with drag shows where the crowd watching is watching tables, to dance clubs with DJs and dancing until dawn. There are also several country and leather bars which are mostly men.

Options specifically for women are a bit more limited but unlike what you might expect if you're used to the US or Europe, most places are a mix of men and women. See our page for recommendations for lesbians for more details.

Though the lines often blur, we've separated our listings below into bars (more of a sit down and chat vibe, often with food too) and dance clubs (more dancing and music). There are also some roaming parties that take place on weekly or monthly schedules or at irregular times. Some are at the same venues each time and others roam between venues. Disco in a historic building at the gayest corner in the city which has been around since the 90s. There are three levels, which they open up further as it gets busy. The top floor is Caudillo's with a DJ and dancing. The main floor is the Zona Dorado where you'll find drag shows and strippers. And the Zona Azul is more of a relaxed vibe. Note there is also another bar in the Caudillo's group called La Taberna de Caudillos which is located nearby.
