Cuernavaca is the capital of Morelos state and the largest city. The metro area includes the cities of Jiutepec, Temixco, and Emiliano Zapata. Cuernavaca has long been a favorite escape for Mexico City and foreign visitors because of this warm, stable climate and abundant vegetation. And there historically has always been a strong LGBT presence which continues to this day.
The city hosts the Morelos state pride march each year at the end of August.
