Guadalajara’s gay sauna scene has a new addition. I recently stopped by Casa Olimpo, a new men’s sauna and sex club that opened right next to Parque Rojo. It’s easy to miss from the street—there’s just a small Casa Olimpo sign, and you’ll need to head up to the third floor, above the restaurant on the second floor. Once inside, it’s a fairly small space compared with some of Guadalajara’s larger saunas, but I had fun checking it out. The setup includes a steam room, lockers, playrooms and darkrooms, along with a few different spaces for hanging out and meeting people.

From my experience, weekends are the time to go, when there’s more of a crowd and the place feels considerably livelier. Casa Olimpo is still very new, so it’ll be interesting to see how it develops, but it’s already another option in Guadalajara’s surprisingly large gay sauna and cruising scene—especially convenient if you’re staying around Colonia Americana or Centro. Cover is currently 200 pesos, and it’s open until 1 a.m. daily.
