Crowds fill the streets of Zacatecas for the annual Marcha Del Orgullo in 2023

Zacatecas is one of Mexico's smaller states but the gay scene there is growing and there is definitely a vibrant LGBT community in the state capital Zacatecas and nearby Guadalupe as well as in Fresnillo and Jerez. Equal marriage rights for gay and lesbian couples were approved by the state legislature in 2021.

• Zacatecas & Guadalupe - The majority of LGBT venues in Zacatecas state are to be found in the state capital of Zacatecas and the adjoining city of Guadalupe.

• Fresnillo - Fresnillo is actually the largest city in the state by population (though Zacatecas metro area has more people) and has several options for the LGBT community as well as a pride march in October.

• Jerez & Valparaíso - Jerez and Valparaíso have small but active LGBT community and annual pride parades.

We do not currently know of any LGBT options in Valparaíso, Pinos, Rio Grande, Sombrete or the rest of the state. Let us know if we're missing something!
